Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
For the dough:

3 1/2 cups (440 grams) all-purpose flour

1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated sugar

2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup (180 ml) milk

1/4 cup (60 ml) water

1/4 cup (57 grams) unsalted butter, softened

1 large egg
For the filling:

1/2 cup (100 grams) granulated sugar
-
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup (57 grams) unsalted butter, softened
For the icing:

1 cup (120 grams) powdered sugar
-
1-2 tablespoons milk
-
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:

Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Heat milk, water, and butter until warm (110°F-115°F). Add to the flour mixture along with the egg. Beat until smooth, then gradually stir in the remaining flour to make a soft dough.

Knead the dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Prepare the filling: In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.

Roll out the dough: Punch down the dough and roll it out into a 15x9 inch rectangle. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Form the rolls: Starting from the long side, roll up the dough tightly. Pinch the seam to seal, then cut into 12 slices. Place the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes.

Bake the rolls: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Make the icing: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the warm cinnamon rolls.
